---------------------------------1- The 3rd Mayday Forum Social of Brassac-les-Mines (63 - France)
The Forum has started Wednesday 30th April and ended on Sunday 4th May.
Under the sun! Debates about Europe and the Environment, the European
Citizenship, the Agriculture politics have taken place. There were also
animations for children and adults, music concerts (Anatole, Fiesta Mordicus)
and a theatre show.
Wormfarms have known a real success at this Forum. Few lines in the local
newspaper have been written! (La Montagne, Friday 2nd May)
Contacts have been taken with regionally represented associations, such
as l'Université Populaire et
Citoyenne d'Auvergne, "Puy
de Dôme Nature Environnement", Chom'Actif
and "Biau
Jardin", G8 illegal.
2- Eco-Bio-Market "Pollen" in Sermentizon
(63 - France)
This "bio" market, organised by the association "Nature et Progrès 63" and that has taken place on 3rd and 4th May, was a formidable chance, although it was exactly during the Forum Social. Sermentizon is only about 50 kilometres from Brassac-les-Mines, so I took the opportunity to go there and show the Wormfarm concept! There too, worms have been very successful!
3- Partnership with the Association Concordia
Just few days after this adventure, worms have been carried
to another adventure, that also has ben a success: the International Youth
Camp in Bessilles (just few jilometers away from Pézenas). This
Youth Camp is organised by the Association Concordia in Pézenas.
This is through one of the members of the animation and coordination Team,
who had read my articles in the "Hélicon…pon, pon, pon,
pon", during the Printival in Pézenas about Wormfarms that
we have been able to organise a partnership.
This Youth Camp that ended on May 10th gathered 14 young people from Germany,
Russia, Greece, Italy, the Check Republic, Canada and the United States.They
all came to build a 80 kilometres long Mountain Bike Cycling Network around
the Park of Bessilles.
During 6 days, I lend them a Wormfarm. The 14 voluntaries have fed the
worms with their organic scrap. I came around to explain how to feed them
and how to take care of their environment. I explained them how much worms
like humidity and obscurity and how much liquid and solid fertilizer would
be produced thank to their involvement. They all have been keen on this
project and took a really good care of the worms and the Wormfarm.
On May 7th, an Open Day was organised by Concordia to present the work
done during this International Youth Camp. I was invited and have presented
our partnership and the Wormfarms decorated by Kébir ("recycling
plastic art") and Alain Chaud (sculptor).
Here are the following Worms Events:
- Saturday 10th May -7pm in Montpeyroux (34)
Meeting with the Association Concordia about Durable Development and Equitable
Commerce.
Montpeyroux is located few kilometres north of Clermont l'Hérault(Direction
Gignac/Montpellier) on the road D141, after St Félix.
- From May 12th and until June 15th :Salon
des Domaines de l'Art
The Association "Les domaines des Arts" organises a Contemporary Art Exhibition
Art in the Domaine Regimont le Haut (Nissan-les-Ensérunes - Hérault -
34).
Among the 80 artists, sculptors and painters, 2 Wormfarms will be exposed.
The artists who support Art Bio and its Wormfarms , Kébir, Alain Chaud
and Bona Mangangu, will also expose some of their pieces.
Don't miss it !
